I can echo Jackie's endorsement of Hotpoint, I've had my washer drier for 7 years now and its still going strong, touch wood. A tactile pannel was put on for me, which includes Braille as well as bumps. I also got an audio CD describing the machine and its various settings.

I'd also agree about not going down the combined route as I found the drier to take hours to dry even half a drum load. Much better to go separate.

Hi Audrey,

Put quite simply, no no no to a combination washer dryer. If you have the
space, one of each is far better. When I rented my two flats in
Northampton, they both had combinations, and they both had to have the
engineer fix them extensively, much to the utter horror of my landlords.

I would recommend Bosch or Hotpoint in terms of general accessibility.

Good luck, and I hope you get some good feedback.

Kind Regards,

HI everyone.

I find that I need to buy a new washing machine and would like to know what
others would recommend from a blind persons angle. I am also looking into
washer dryers as an alternative and wonder about others experiences of these
as well.

Any recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Audrey
