A speaker is useful, like the kind that come with Trekker. Something like
this can clip to your collor so you can hear Access, have your phone in your
pocket and not have to where headphones. I think I've only used Access once or
twice with my cane, its neally always with my Dog and I definitely haven't done
a truly unknown route with Access when using my cane. This is because I'm a
Dog user now so don't use my cane much but I do feel my Dog gives me more
freedom and in my view actually helps me get more out of a GPS system, not
prevent.

I don't have a dog, so I'm not sure of the constraints this would place
on you. If it helps though, I tend to use earphones with my phone when
accessing WayFinder. I usually have Talks set to quite a low volume, so when on
a busy street it's helpful to have earphones.

I think using earphones would also mean you could put your phone in
your pocket. Perhaps this would be an advantage if you're out with your dog?

I wouldn't have thought it was off topic for this list James, as it's
an access technology. I'm sure George will set us straight if I'm wrong about
that though.

I use WayFinder to get directions, or to keep track of my journey
when I'm in a cab. The feature that tells you how much farther your destination
is, and how much longer the journey is likely to take, is particularly useful.

          Hi folks,

I am curious to know if any of you use Way Finder Access and if so
how? I have a Guide Dog and was wondering what you used when working your dog,
i.e. headphones?

          Thanks

          Take care
