Hi George.
You'd have thought so, especially since its a product specifically
designed for the blind! instead, its a PDF file with scanned pages. it
sounds like the manufacturer has just given the device to the
distributor and expected them to do all the work!
cheers,
Mo.

Surely the manufacturer should do this?

Hi clive. If you drop me the manual off list, i'd be happy to convert it to an accessible format for you. Send it to:

Cheers,

Oh, Clive, you have made me a very happy person! I hadn't looked
very recently, almost giving up any hope of getting one. Now I am
keen to take advantage!
The new features sounds good and well worth having. I presume, do
I, that one must have an account! I'll order as soon as I can but,
realistically, I'm about to go away for a week and don't want to
run the risk of it coming while I am away from home.
Sorry, Clive, I can't help you with the manual. I will take a look
around though to see if there is one. If I find it, I will of
course send you a copy!
Regards and thanks a lot for your information!

Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased the Wilson recorder Version 6 from
Sightconnection.com <http://sightconnection.com> in the USA.
While waiting for it to arrive, which should
be next week according to my tracking information, I have been
searching for
an accessible manual but all the PDF files I have found are
unreadable and I
get the following message:
This document appears to be empty. It may be a scanned image that
needs OCR or
it may be a malformed document.
I would be most grateful if anyone who has this recorder could
please e-mail
the manual to me so I can save it for future reference.
for those of you who don't know about it, here are the details.
The Wilson^(TM) Recorder (Version 6) is a simple to use digital
recorder. It can
store up to 12 hours of recordings based on the selected recording
quality.
It's easy to add or delete messages. There is a new CM (check
messages)
button, on the side beneath the volume button, that you can press
to hear an
announcement of how many messages are stored on The Wilson^(TM).
This CM button,
while held in, also allows you to hear a count down of your
messages, i.e. 1,
2, 3, release the button and it will stop at the message number
you wish to
hear. You can also pause while recording.
This device measures 4" x 3 inches and comes with volume control,
a belt clip,
and a single earbud. This recorder makes n otes, memos, and
reminders easy for
low vision users.
Requires 2 AAA batteries.
I purchased Version 5 of this recorder last year and have found it
very
useful, and once my new recorder arrives I will pass it on. The check
messages button will make it much easier to find a particular
message quickly
without having to skip back through messages which I have to do at
present.
Also, on Version 5 you cannot pause recordings, only playback.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best wishes,
Clive Pallett
