[access-uk] Winamp compared to other players

Hello
I recorded a couple of speech cassettes using Total Recorder. The recording
sounded reasonable playing them back within Total Recorder. When I subsequently
played them using Win amp the volume was significantly lower and there was much
more background noise.
I downloaded the latest Winamp version and though the recording sounds better,
the speech is still louder and clearer with less background noise when played
with Total Recorder and Windows Media player.
Is the bottom line that Winamp is an inferior player, or am I not doing
something that I should be doing.
