[access-uk] Windows Media player not playing files automatically any more

Hello all,
 
please can anyone tell me what's happening here, and how to correct it:
 
I currently have Windows Media player set as the default that should
play MP3 files when I click on them.  Up until yesterday, if I clicked
they would play. Now the file opens up and Jaws says "Video and
visualisation display area" about four times, but nothing plays.  Has
anything come unchecked which needs to be re-checked so that windows
Media player with play clicked files on launch again as it used to?
