Use Miranda IM if you want to use nvda.if you still want to use Windows messenger, it is still available if you get "autopatcher" from
www.autopatcher. comAnd, yes, it will work on win 7 also. A few friends of mine are using it that way.

I am using JAWS v9 as my default screen reader, but have been advised that in order to access Windows Messenger I ideally need to upgrade to JAWS 13, an expense I can't justify just for that facility. Does anyone access windows messenger using NVDA by any chance? I have installed the latest version but I am unable to open the conversation window or see recent messages, so any tips and useful keystrokes would be much appreciated.Pete
