I believe it's 40 hours of use. If you want to use the demo for scanning letters for when there is no one about then the demo will last you up to 6 months to a year.

Amro, in April I downloaded a demo of Open Book from the Freedom Scientific site. I have no idea how long the demo is supposed to run, but as I write,it's still going strong.I wouldn't consider buying the programme, it's very expensive, but since yousay you only want to do one job, it might suit your needs.
