hi the e51 is indeed wi-fi enabled. this is what annoys me about custoemr
services. i specifically asked her "i've never used email or internet before on
my phone, so do i need to be registered first" and she said no! ... which i
thought was a little odd. but i let it go. even the model seemed to floor her
for a minute, so god knows how accurate the info she gave me was. not very it
seems.

Go in to a Vodafone store, and ask if you are registered for internet access.
If you only have the gprs, live and mms access points then I would say that you
aren't. Doesn't the E51 have WiFi?

hi, hmm. still having no joy. by the way i'm using the nokia e51 if that
helps anyone. i've never tried anything like this before, hence my ignorance!
:). when i go into my mailbox, into the menu and email settings. there's an
option for connection. in there it says: access point in use vodafone internet
gprs. there's also a vodafone live, and, a vodafone mms. option. none of these
seem to make any difference. is there a setting elsewhere in this phone to sort
out the connection problem i'm having? if so any clues? i can't seem to find
anything. i called vodafone customer service for all the use it was. alls i got
from a rather uncertain lady was: "all the settings are in vodafone live" ...
very helpful not!! and apparently i don't need to activate anything on my
account either. so any suggestions folks?

If you get that message, it is a problem with your internet connection,
you might want to contact Vodafone and make sure you are registered for
internet access. After that, if you are a pay as you go customer, you need to
select either the PaytWAP access point or the PaytInternet access point to
connect. If you are a contract customer, then use the ContractWAP or
ContractInternet access point.

If you are using your own email address, then you don't need anything
from Vodafone. You will need to know the address of the inbound and outbound
email servers for your email provider, if this is your own website then your
web host should have told you these details. Once you know these details, it is
easy to set up, its just the same as setting email up in something like outlook
express.

hi all, i want to be able to access my email while i'm away from home
next week. i'm a PAYG custoemr with vodafone. are there specific settings i'll
need from my provider to connect? and will i have to ring them to get these
details? or they available on the net. although i presume they'll have to
activate something or other on my account. i can see how to set up the mailbox
on the phone etc, but i'm guessing there are connection settings i'll need from
vodafone. any help is appreciated. oh and it's not a vodafone email address,
it's the one i use everyday ( this one in fact)
