Karen, you might try going to add/remove and see if there are any nasties in there that have latched themselves to the running applications. I've seen this happen on my son's computer, and we've had to remove what is known as a trojan that attaches itself to the start-up, and is got rid of by removing it from add/remove program.


Also, delete all your history, cookies and passwords and see if that helps.

hi all

when surfing on the net using internet explorer i keep getting the altivista page coming up taking over from what i'm doing. i've done a addaware sca etc to try and get rid of this but with no luck. has anyone else had this happen? if so how the hell do i get rid of it, its driving me nuts!!
