Hi Phil

It's the main reason why Ian configured that system for me years ago, because I couldn't bend down or forward at the back of TV cabinets and hi-fi components. The box is quite small, with five push-buttons on the front, and all the phono sockets coming out at the rear. When I want Sky on the hi-fi for example, I just select one of those buttons, and similarly, when I want to jump to video or Freeview, I do likewise. I've also got the ability if I want to put my Iriver through the stereo as well, but I tend not to use it that way now because the laptop is hooked up to the hi-fi directly if I want to play music.

It's one of Ian's many creations that I like using. Haven't the foggiest idea how he does it, but I gave up asking yonks ago, and just enjoy the ease of use with which his creations give me. (smile.)

But though Tandy is sadly no longer around - one of the worst closures in living memory I believe - Maplin should have something similar, or Hagger Electronics could make you up something if you ask Lee.

Hi Jackie,

That sounds like the ideal solution, in the past I have had to swop the
phono cables around depending on whether I've wanted Sky or dvd to come
through the stereo, this would save all that fiddling around at the back of
the tv cabinet!

Thanks as ever,

Phil

Hi Phil

We have a box sitting on our unit where the Sky, Freeview and video are
housed. The box has five buttons on the front, and all the devices are
connected through it to the hi-fi using five sets of phonos going in, and
two going out to the hi-fi. It's a setup that Ian rigged up for me, and all
I do when I want Sky through the hi-fi is press one of the buttons on the
little box, and do likewise for Freeview or the video. We got this magic
box a long time ago in Tandy, but I reckon Maplin Electronics might sell you
an equivalent. I'd hate to be without it to be honest.

I hope this is of some use.

Hi there Jackie & Pele,

Yes Jackie up until now I have connected both the Sky receiver, dvd player and a freeview box to my hifi via phono leads. I do have a scart to phono
lead too but I'm not sure how to connect it all to have the freeview, dvd
and scart phono lead connected at the same tmetime. I am more interested
in
what the 2 holes are on the back of the Logic box which seem to be the
only
spare sockets but which don't appear to take the standard phono leads.

Where is sighted help when you need it, well she's out shopping actually!!

Thanks anyway,

Phil

Hi Guys

We've got our Freeview box connected to the hi-fi through phono sockets as the box has connections to allow us to do so. But having said that, we've
had ours for some time so perhaps those being sold now don't have them.

Hi Everyone

I would be interested to know this, as well.

The only way I have found of connecting the box to the stereo, so far, is
to use a scart cable connected to a lead with phono plugs.

Any information welcome.
