I have personally found that it is less to do with the relative merits software but the sheer ergonomics of trying to scan books with a mobile camera. Most paperbacks do not lie flat and that can be a bit of a problem because one hand is taking a picture and the other holding the thing flat. I don't find the process very comfortable with results somewhat congruent to that. If you want to do a lot of books a flatbed scanner is still the best answer and will give more consistent results. Where Beyo and KNFB et al come into their own are the loose bits of paper you might come across on your travels throughout the day. Regards.
