go to Run on the Start menu and type 'msconfig' then select the Boot.Ini
tab. Check the item '/NOGUIBOOT', click OK and when prompted
restart your PC. This time it will go straight from the opening white
progress bar or a blank screen to the XP desktop.

Subject: [access-uk] getting rid of log on screen

Hi all, For some reason my laptop has started displaying the log on
screen
when I turn it on or restart it. How can I prevent this? I am using
Windows
XP home.

When it appears I just press enter and the computer logs on to windows.

I've looked in user accounts in control pannel and deleted my network
passbourt account thinking that it would get rid of the annoying log on
screen, but it didn't.

Thanks for any help
Yusuf
