personally, I would recommend upgrading to a later model of the ID-mate, as
the later ones have a database that can be updated via USB or wifi.
if you go to:
www.envisionamerica.com
directly, rather than the UK dealer, you can still get the UK database and
mains plug, but they generally have good 12 month payment options available.

what exactly are you looking to do?
upgrade your old model, or try to get a UK database that will work with
it?

Subject: [access-uk] i d mate
hi
i have a very old i d mate its a very clunky thing with a control box
and the scanner attached via a cable, its very old and takes forever to
identify any barcodes i scan, i can't scan purchjased groceries in it unless
i've done it manually.
i believe that the newer ones have their own database of items that can
be identified just by scanning the item when you've purchased it and don't have
to manually enter the details for the item first
does anyone know what i'm talking about and if so can they point me in
the direction of where to go from here
thanks
