Hi
This is probably one of the reasons why the old tnauk
service was going under, the lack or lowering use of the
service plus the increasing cost of running a service such
as this. We cannot expect to have everything free of charge,
sighted people have to buy magazines and books so we should
too.
Regards
Adrien

Hi Jackie
Was it not said on in Touch that the reason for the talking
book service to be free, it the fact there are far less
users
to what used to be.
So they want to encourage more people to use service.
could this same argument not apply to the news paper
service.
There are less users now, compared to few years ago.
So if the service was free, more people will sign up!
Derek

Hi Iain
I completely agree. If you go into a newsagent, you have to
buy your
magazine or newspaper, and while some stuff is available at
a public
library, you can't take it away with you, and you probably
don't have
the same choice you would from a shop. It isn't
unreasonable to have
to pay for such a service in my view, and I think it is good
value. I
also thought the Talking Books and OverDrive services were
good value
for money, that was never the issue for me.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown

But you can't take them away from the building. I really
think this is
asking for too much.

correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure all newspapers are
available
to be read in libraries.

Ou could argue that you should be entitled to a free

I think it should be free.
Same reason as talking books free.

Hi Mo,
Im subscribed to the e-text download service; about £40 a
think. I use mainly the newspapers and tv and radioguides, and
and Computer Which, but of course I can dip into anymagazine at
leisure. I receive some of my magazines by email as partof that
subscription.<mobeeniqbal@xxxxxxxxx>

Hello Everyone.
I'm looking for people who are subscribed to RNIB
received a catalogue from them today, but the pricingstructure
very clear. I am looking to receive magazines via email ordownload.
which would be the cheaper option? the implication is thatmagazines
can be downloaded if you subscribe to the service as ahole, but
prices per issue seem to be around the £25 mark per issueanually.
it cheaper if you subscribe to the download service togain access
all the magazines at once?publication
the other question I have is regarding how much of the
is edited by the RNIB. do we get access to all articles inwhich
magazine for example? or just some of the articles? anyadvice would
be very much appreciated.link:-
all the best,
Mo.
