Hi,

I have to say, that was a very good post that you wrote I happen to agree with you. I couldn't put it better myself. In this post, you said it all I think.

It doesn't embarrass me to use the word blind, because that's exactly what I am! Visually impaired is just the correct terminology to use when writing a report I think. One should not be ashamed of the word Blind.

When I have been for job interviews and I have stated that I was visually impaired people immediately seem to think that I have some vision, I find this annoying really.

You may have vision to impair. But many of us don't. We are blind. With no sight to impair. So, why shouldn't we be proud to use the word which most aptly describes us. If we were all called visually impaired, that would imply we all had vision to impair. It would also further stigmatize the word "blind". Which should be nothing about which to feel shame. If that is what you are. If that word is used to describe various applications or other things, it might mean we all could use them. Not just those who only require some sort of screen magnification to use them satisfactorily. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib Hussain" <saqibh23@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi. What is it with this blind word. Personally I find it annoying
along with a few others. Even Pacific apps for VI people are being
called blind so and so. It's embarrassing to say the least.

Hi Austin,

Google groups use the plus sign before the word Subscribe instead of the

Here's the correct address:
