hi peter, it was already running under XP sp1. he just installed service pack 2. the 2 obvious choices are to uninstall sp2, or to role the system back to a time prior to sp2's installation to see if it helps. but he'd like to know if there's anything to try before doing that. some changes made by sp2 are obvious, but some are not and i don't use k1000 myself to know if one of the hidden changes of sp2 is to blame.

Hello,
I think that you will need Kurzweil v. 10 to work with XP; v. 9 might work
with it too but I am not sure. I suggest you contact Kurzweil to check this;
they might be able to help.
