Hi robin, Thanks for reminding me, I had intended to write back with the solution I found. I've recently purchased a Panasonic - KX-TG 8561 Cordless Phone. It has in built talking caller ID which, at least in my phone, was automatically turned on. You will need sighted assistance if you want to change any of the phone functions, say the ringer, or set the time, or create your own answer phone message. But, despite that I feel its still better than the RNIB's talking cordless phone because it has more functionality. I got mine from LiGo electronics
