No problem David, I understood what you meant. I'll look into another idea
that Mark posted earlier, and see how I get on. Otherwise I'll have to charm
the nursing staff to let me use my mobile if I'm not going to cause any
difficulties in the vicinity of machinery etc. I use an N91, and have my Email
set up on it anyway.

Hi Jackie,
I did not mean to give a false impression. Once the software is installed
and working, you can use the card with the minimum of use of the software that
it comes with. You use your email client and web browser in the normal way and
because the cards are 3 g, they are a luxury compared to a dial up connection.
All I do is insert the card, load the software and check whether it's found a
connection, then use Internet Explorerand Outlook Express in the normal way.

Thanks for that. I'm going to look into it, starting with Vodafone because
I know them well at my branch. I don't really understand how it all works
to be honest, and I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm talking about.
What slightly concerns me is how accessible any software you need to use
will be with JAWS. If it's all mouse-driven, that's not going to be easy
for a start. I'll post anything significant if I get to grips with it
myself (smile.)

Strange only yesterday I rang t mobile concerning
doing exactly the same as you want to do.
apparently they have a disability line you can ring them on.
the techie person told me about these cards and it costs £20 per month to
have.
the card comes with a usb cable.
it sounds like the one David has.
you also have a t mobile sim card with software.
this chap said just plug in the card to the
laptop and the software automatically will install and connect.
I wonder if this is true.
I am looking in to doing this via bluetooth using
my e65 modem but I am having difficulty in loading my bluetooth tdk drivers.
it says no bluetooth found even when the cable is plugged in.
with my braille note pk I can use my e65 so then
I can use the internet with the price being £1 per day with t mobile.
I think there are all different cards available vodafone orange and the
like.
be interested to know how you get on.
I wonder when you plug this device in if it takes
over the connection in internet explorer.
