Hi Susan, Press Insert-V to get into Window-Eyes verbosity. Now go down to Office. Press right arrow, then down to Word. Press right arrow again then down to Miscellaneous. Finally tab to the Speak Smart Tags check box. Untick it by pressing the space bar, then tab to Save Settings. Job done. You'll never hear it again. Hi folks, Using window eyes 8.4, with windows 8.1 and office 201. I was using windows xp with office 2003, and the screen reader jaws. I have only changed to the above last week, I'm finding outlook quite difficult as I was always used to outlook express. One of my problems is when typing an email if I don't put a capitol letter window eyes says, smart tag: undo auto actions. This also applies in Microsoft word. Can any one help?
