The thing about credit cards is that if you buy something with them the
purchase is insured, so if anything does go wrong your credit card company
will pay up. That's the theory anyway, although fortunately I have never
had to test it out. I think there is a lower limit of £100 below which you
are not covered, although I may be wrong about this. A good idea would be
to contact your credit card company for further information.

Hi Alex

Like you, I work without sight on web pages, so don't know either. But one
tip perhaps to pass on is that my bank advised me many years ago to use a
credit card rather than a debit card when ordering online. They explained
that you have more protection with a credit card. Their logic was that if
you are being defrauded with a debit card, the money will come straight out
of your bank account.

I'm not sure how true this is, or whether it was a ploy on their part to get

me to use a credit card, but I have since heard that their advice was sound.
