Hello Everyone.

Over the last few days, a question has been at the back of my mind and i was wondering if anyone could shed any light on possible solutions for future reference. as some of you may be aware, i was talking to someone recently who is thinking of selling software. while that particular question has been resolved to his satisfaction and he's carrying on with his project, it got me thinking. when companies like freedomscientific, eset etc release software, they must protect it in some way. obviously they have online activation systems as well with the ability for the customer to go and request their registration code. so my question is this. has anyone ever had any experience of the kind of solutions they use to protect the software? i'm assuming they'd use encryption? and has anyone ever used online companies to manage software registrations? i know quite a few companies exist where you can offer serial number generation and registration for your customers and was wondering what people's experiences were from a VI point of view?

all the best,

Mo.
