A note of discord here, but what's necessarily so good about very small
phones? Surely this in itself works against good tactile functionality?

Watch out too! I've heard of phones having no keyboard at all. Simply a
touch screen. How the devil are we to cope with that one?

:a few things andy.
:
: Firstly go to www.nuance.com/talks and click on the compatible phones list.
: read comments relating to each phone.
:
: You could always then join the recycle-it list by sending a blank email to
: recycle-it-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and ask if anyone is selling that kind
: of phone. You may also want to go to a local shop such as carphone
: warehouse and take a look at any phones you think are suitable before
: buying. I think the only phone available with a flip (also known as a clam
: shell design) is the Nokia 6260 (appoligies if I have the model number
: slightly incorrect). This phone is reported to be easy to use and quite
: tactile but not particularly small. You will probably have to make
: compromises therefore.
