I went to my settings on my Iphone and saw the setting you speak about but
there appeared to be no button so I had to assume it was automatic - except
it wasn't!
However, I have solved the problem by syncing my Iphone with my PC and
selecting back-up, where it told me I had purchases and asked if I wanted to
share them - which I di! So, problem solved. But thanks for your suggestion.
