copyright issues are though I believe a problem here for some reason. Yes I
do of course think we should have the same access to books as people get in
the US but until we legally can do this then it seems to me that services
like BookStream club is a good option.

Also, unless I have totally misunderstood things, BookShare is basically
text books not audio books, so the services are not really the same though
of course I would like access to these books.

Cheers

Graham

oh come on, then look at bookshare and all the other services in the states.

they keep copyright by getting express permission from the publishers, so me
thinks not that this is an excuse.

not really as if you want the book you can order them on CD.. this probably
relates to copyright issues. If you could just download the books they
would need to be copy protected in some way.

Yes I know that if you get the CD you can easily just copy it, but
organisations must do what they have to to keep the publishers on side.

Graham

yes but the disadvantage i see with the rnib book stream club is that you
can't download books. this is stupid in my opinion.

I find it great to be able to hear books straight away rather than having to
order them on CD though getting the Cd is also an option. I find it useful
and worth the money.
