Hi.

A little shameless plugging here I know *smile*, but netbooks are my specialty, I shift plenty of them and have excellent sources of supply, so if your feeling a little miffed by the choice and selection, whether its windows xp or 7 you should be going for or just generally want some advice based on cold hard experience and personal opinion, hit me with your questions and I'd be happy to answer them.

All the best, Ibrahim.

A lot of netbooks do work with screen readers, Christine. Lots of people like the Samsung NC20 or NC10 which run on Windows XP. My Mike has an Advent. They're not the absolute best but it's good enough for him. Yes, they're very small but I love them. You'd probably pick up one on the Secondhand Zone easily enough if you don't want to buy new.

Hope this helps.

Yes, there are such things, but be very careful in what
you purchase.
We bought a small note book for our son which is running
windows 7 which would have been fine for me to install a
speech screenreader onto, he doesn't need one, he's a
student who also required a lighter weight laptop to
carry back and forth from university.
I thought this was a good idea and bought myself an even
smaller one, a Net Book--the problem is it is only
running windows C E and I have been unable to find a
speech screenreader to use with the tiny machine, so by
very careful what you buy has an operating system you can
use speech with.
If anyone does know of something that will run with C E
then I would be most grateful to hear from you at:

goatmum@xxxxxxx

and most delighted to be able to use my new purchase of
the smallest laptop on this planet!

Best of luck, from Christine W.

Hi All,

I find a laptop is too heavy to travel with and
wonder if there is smaller computers which I can buy
able to use with a standard keyboard or which has a
keyboard usable by atotally blind user! Any comments
much appreciated! [smile]
Regards,

Gerry.
