In order, try these things until you get speech back:
1. Ask Siri to turn Voice Over on.
2. Triple tap with three fingers slightly spaced apart. This is easier
with the phone in landscape. This turns speech on and off but doesn’t turn VO
off.
3. Triple tap the home button. If it is set up for VO, this toggles it
on and off.
4. Tap on the screen then immediately press the volume up button on the
side a few times. This will bring the volume of VO up.
5. Get someone sighted to go into Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice
Over and turn it on.
If none of these work, it might be a problem with dust in the headphone socket.
Let me know if you have got this far and nothing is happening and I’ll explain
what to do next.
Cheers
Barry
