Personally, I would say that if we haven’t heard from him in the timeframe 
outlined in the email, we should just proceed with the nominations including 
Melissa. If Juan is still interested in being on the board, we could always 
find an appointed or at-large position.

Yes. That’s part of the reason I wanted to check on how we’ve communicated with 
Juan and Melissa.  Melissa has said we can nominate her for treasurer, which is 
good news. We can ask Juan again if he wants to run for anything, but then we 
should be set, correct?

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe out there! I look forward to 
hearing about everyone's quarantine projects when I get to see you all in 
person again someday. I'll expect accounts of that Eiffel Tower made from 
toothpicks, and that database of Far Side cartoons you'd been meaning to get to.

I'm writing to you with a few announcements and important action items for our 
members.

The Board continues to meet monthly, and keeps up to date with any news about 
COVID-19 and how advisable it is to meet in large groups for 
rehearsals/performance. At this time, we think that meeting as a full band is 
still some months off. We hope that we will be able to coordinate smaller 
ensembles as we move into the fall. We will reach out to gauge your interest in 
small ensemble work in a few weeks time, right after we take care of...

Elections! That's right, it's already been a whole year! We will be doing 
elections a bit differently this year, as you might have guessed. I have listed 
the elected positions of the band and their duties at the end of the email. 
This year elections will be conducted by Google Form, which will be "counted" 
(monitored) by the non-elected members of the board.
A couple of our board members are hanging up their spurs, and we'd like to 
thank them for their service to the band. Sharon Bozeman and Michael Bonagurio 
will not be seeking reelection, and we appreciate their work for the betterment 
of ACWE. THANKS GUYS!

nominate a band member for any of the elected roles of the Board. Please also

Board. The President performs all duties and powers as may be from time to time

TREASURER: The Treasurer shall have the care and custody of all monies 
belonging to ACWE and shall be solely responsible for keeping regular books of 
account for the organization. The Treasurer takes in and disburses all monies 
of the organization with approval of the Board. The Treasurer shall be the 
primary signatory on all checks or drafts of the organization, with the 
President and Vice-President serving as co-signatories. The Treasurer shall 
exercise all other duties incident to the office of Treasurer, or as shall be 
assigned by the President or the Board, including the handling of all relevant 
tax documents. The Treasurer is responsible for developing and reviewing fiscal 
procedures and the annual budget with the Board. The Board must approve the 
budget, and any subsequent major change in the budget. Annual reports are 
required to be submitted to the Board showing income and expenditures. The 
financial records of ACWE are public information and shall be made available to 
the membership, Board members, and the public.

BAND REPRESENTATIVE: The Band Representative represents the interests of the 
membership at all Board and business meetings. The Band Representative must be 
a Full, Active member of ACWE. The Band Representative maintains the membership 
database, recruits new members, and takes roll at concerts and rehearsals.
