Yeah Henry, there are far more dangerous propellants, furf. has some good
qualities like having a high density, for an alcohol/fuel, 1.2,
and is highly hypergolic with WFNA, though just not available at your local
hardware store.

Not severely toxic -- a bit more so than methanol -- although there is
some suspicion it may be somewhat carcinogenic (as is gasoline...).
Traces occur in many foods, and in fact small amounts are used as a
flavoring food additive! Not particularly dangerous because its vapor
pressure is quite low and it's not absorbed significantly through the skin
(although it's a skin irritant); just don't drink it...
