Whoops, I completely forgot about TARC! Definitely start assembling a team for
next year. (Be sure not to include anyone from the
does-no-work-but-accepts-credit-anyway crowd!) And before doing that, order a
few rocket kits and motors to familiarize yourself with modroc design and
assembly.
A few resources:
* AC Supply carries Estes rockets and motors, typically at 25% or more off
suggested retail. The Alpha III starter set,
https://www.acsupplyco.com/estes-model-rockets/launch-sets/estes-alpha-iii-launch-set
is an excellent choice, and a bulk pack of motors will keep you flying for a
good while.

* The Rocketry Forum is a HUGE source of information from the rocketry
community. Any question you might have probably has already been asked and
answered somewhere. Start with the "Beginners & Educational
Programs<https://www.rocketryforum.com/forums/beginners-educational-programs.41/>"
forum.

* When you or your team is ready to design models, Balsa Machining Service
at https://www.balsamachining.com/ is one of the best sources (if not the best)
for parts: tubes, nose cones, balsa fin material, etc. The "School Rocket" kit
for each member of your team is an inexpensive introduction to design and
assembly of a rocket "from scratch".
* Hobby Lobby carries some kits and motors, though prices are full retail.
Good luck!
Terry
