"temperature compensated crystal oscillator" - the primary GPS system
frequency reference for the radio frequencies and related signals.

They're supposed to be a high-stability precision reference; "your mileage
may vary" on that in the presents of strong G-loads (depending on things
like the specific mechanical design of the oscillating crystal).
