What propellant are you using? Fire extinguishers are generally mild steel,
which is not good for LOX since it gets brittle at those temps. Also, fire
extinguishers are only tested to ~600 psi, which is below the 745 psi that
Nitrous can pressurize to under normal conditions. I doubt the mild steel
would enjoy peroxide as well.
(Sorry I just saw you said fuel tank. I'm working on a hybrid, so
everything is oxidizer) What pressures are you looking at? You'll want a
decent factor of safety since you are modifying the tank and I imagine it's
old. I wouldn't have your fire extinguisher tank above 200 psi as an
absolute maximum.
