Here are some videos from the SDSU Rocket Project I mentor of their last
static test (same test; 3 different views). We were testing a new
LOX/methane motor for the FAR/MARS competition.
There appears to be a low-frequency combustion instability, but nothing
melted and all hardware survived so we’ll call that a victory for now and
make some changes to fix that. Thrust was kept a little low and we ran fuel
rich, both intentionally, to preserve hardware on this maiden firing.
