My guess is the air rushing in when the projectile breaks the membrane will
help slow it down PDQ. 😊

Does anyone know how the tether in the centrifuge works? Presumably the
projectile mass is counterbalanced by a similar mass on the other end of the
tether, but what happens to that mass when the projectile is released? Is it
simultaneously released downwards into the ground? Seems like that would
require quite a bit of energy absorption capability. Or is it something
different?
