This supports the "Branson gets the assets" theory, whatever it will be
worth to get them. As other have noted, I don't think the assets will
be useful without the associated personnel.
He may be thinking of cutting his losses rather than trying to continue
the company. The specialized rocketry stuff may not be of much value to
others, but things like buildings and airplanes have cash value. Not as
much as they used to, mind you -- for example, the cash value of 747s has
declined a great deal in the last five years, as airlines started phasing
them out and Covid accelerated that -- but still quite significant. V.O.
wasn't a little startup any more.
