At a guess, the 90% peroxide started out reacting with the boot materials (relatively) slowly, after a few tens of seconds heating things up to the point of filling the boot with combustible gases, which then ignited FWOOMP as observed.

    Though the chicken drumstick that gets ejected seems superfluous. Meat
    just bleaches in peroxide, it's not very reactive.
