I remain skeptical of this thrust augmentation. What's your opinion?
From first principles, it seems not implausible.  Without the augmenter
tube, a considerable amount of thermal energy in the hot exhaust jet is
likely wasted.  If ambient air is mixed into the exhaust as a working
fluid, then it will expand, conceivably generating additional thrust. 
Kinda like using a turbofan rather than a straight turbojet.
