Wow, thinking about that opened up a really nasty can of worms. You need
to figure out the heat transfer for each layer from one to the other
sounds like and then is that top layer ablative? Of course, it is so it
gets some special nasty there.

Before I go build a model, I’m wondering if anyone is aware of a tool
(Excell or calculator based is fine, even ideal) that estimates the
temperature in an uncooled multi-layer material structure?
I have an excell model based on the Schmidt method for estimating
temperatures in a single wall materia; I’m looking to approximate graphite
/ titanium and (thin layer) ZrO2 / titanium.
