Yes but it's a non petroleum H2 source which was the point,

It's a non-petroleum H2 source that *nobody uses*, which was the point. So if furfuryl alcohol manufacturing uses GH2 for the hydrogenation -- not clear -- then furfuryl alcohol that you can buy today doesn't really *quite* qualify for warm fuzzy feelings about green propellants.

Saying "well, in the future it could" is a bit silly -- *any* fuel, even kerosene, could be made without petroleum if you were willing to pay a high enough price. What matters is what you can actually buy, now or in the near future. No sensible rocketeers are going to make their own furfuryl alcohol.
