Here's a poor photo of the Bald Eagle that I found this evening. It was
perched in a tree about halfway up the mountainside across the river from the
Rainbow restaurant at Vansant. I spotted it while driving and pulled off to
photograph it from the restaurant parking lot. I had reports of an adult bird
from a friend last week, who spotted it on a carcass on US 460 about five miles
west of Grundy. Don't know if it is the same bird, but I can't wait to show
him these pics.
In postscript, I'd like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Mayhorn's for
another great Warbler Day! We all know how hard you both work to prepare for
it. Just know that I and many others spend the rest of year looking forward to
this event and also that it is greatly appreciated!
