Jerry From: bcbirdclub-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bcbirdclub-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jerry Thornhill Sent: Monday, September 22, 2014 11:18 AM To: 'bcbc/bird' Subject: [bcbirdclub] Fall Migration Celebration Seventeen birders joined Jane & Jerry Thornhill at their house on Saturday, September 20, to celebrate fall migration. The weather was beautiful, but the birds were not as cooperative as we had hoped. Nonetheless, there were some good finds. A Yellow-bellied Flycatcher gave four birders an addition to their lifelist and provided a time for lots of recollections as the bird only made brief appearances periodically and it took more than an hour for all to finally get a look. Two Bald Eagles, an immature and an adult, made an appearance as did Red-tailed, Red-shouldered, Broad-winged, and Cooper's Hawks. Tom Hunter spotted a Red-headed Woodpecker, a first to be observed from the yard. At least 38 species were seen. The list is below. If you have additions, please let me know.
