Hi All,
With 4 inches of snow on the ground and a cool 9 degrees this morning the birds
were really active, especially after I cleaned the snow off the platform
feeders, the feeding area under the Gooseberry bush and put out black oil
sunflower seeds, cracked corn and white millet.
I have had one Fox Sparrow coming regularly to feed in the area under the bush,
but this morning it was sharing the spot with a second Fox Sparrow, several
Cardinals, Juncos, Song and White-throated Sparrows.

A male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker has been also been a regular at the suet
feeder, and he was back again today. He kept a couple of Downy Woodpeckers and
White-breasted Nuthatches at bay while he was eating, but they got their fill,
as soon as he left.

A male Purple Finch was on a platform feeder this morning. Yesterday there was
a male and a female.

Here are a couple of photos, one of the Fox Sparrow and one of the sapsucker.

Is anyone else, besides Jerry and Jane Thornhill, getting any good feeder birds?
