Weather:
Until the 5 o'clock hour, cloud cover was near perfect for viewing. The
clouds cleared by late afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
Morning activity began as promising, but as day went on, the hawk sightings
dwindled.
Most hawks were visible with naked eye as they passed the fire tower. Very
few were sighted high in sky.
No kettles of hawks greater in number than 3 or 4 during the day.
Most birds were solo, or no greater than 6 or 7, in a group.
Non-raptor Observations:
A few sporadic sightings of Monarch butterflies throughout the day. A small
flock of 8 geese flew past during the 10 o'clock hour.
