Hi All,
After having reported seeing the first Bobolink ever here on the mountain on
April 29, I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to see a flock of 8 in a
neighbor's hay field. I'm sure you have heard the old adage, "When it rains it
pours"; well, it sure has been raining.
Also unusual is our number of hummers so early in the season. As of yesterday I
counted 19 at one time at our two feeders. We usually don't have that many
until the young ones hatch off in June. I can only wonder how many there will
be by then.
