Went to Bays Mtn. Park with the family today after a Dr. appt. We had a picnic
lunch and then did some birding. In just a few minutes had first of two life
birds, a Great-crested Flycatcher. The second came about an hour later in the
form of a male Scarlet Tanager. Other notables were an Osprey, Great Blue
Heron and a Red-shouldered Hawk. Also got lucky to see the captive raptors at
feeding time. Tomorrow, will be off to Whitetop Mtn. in search of
Black-throated Blues and maybe a Veery?
