Hi All, I just got off the phone with Sheldon. He is, of course, still in the UVA hospital in Charlottesville. I have talked with him a couple of times this week. The first time he was too weak to talk, after having been on a walk down the hospital corridor. Today he seems a bit stronger. At least he sounds stronger on the phone. He was hoping to come home, but the doctors want him to transfer to the assisted facility section of the Bristol Regional Medical Center. After a couple of weeks there the doctors want him to return to Charlottesville and undergo another procedure. Sheldon is under the impression, that he may be transferred to Bristol sometime this coming week. He was told by one doctor, who is trying to keep Sheldon's blood sugar under control, since Sheldon is a diabetic, that he has lost about half the function of his pancreas. The doctor says that this will make it more difficult for him to maintain his blood sugar levels in the future. Sheldon says that he is taking the situation one day at a time, and is trying not to get his hopes up about coming home very soon. He once again expressed his thanks to those, who have inquired about him. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
