On my way home from a grocery run this afternoon, a Red-tailed Hawk flew across the road in front of me. As it passed by, I thought I saw a large white patch above its tail on its lower back. I was able to find a turn-out and got the hawk in my bino. Sure enough, there was a significant white patch similar to a Northern Harrier. The patch was v-shaped with the point toward the tail. I've never seen this before. Jerry
