Hey all, I had the good fortune to be able to get away and bird a little while this morning at Keen Mountain Park. As many of you know the road leading to the park is very good sparrow habitat and I though I may see some White-throated, White-crowned or other migrating sparrows. I wasn't lucky enough to see any of the aforementioned species, however the rest of the birds were very active and there were good numbers of them. Some notables were Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Swainson's Thrush, Palm and Yellow-rumped Warblers and the first Golden-crowned Kinglet I've seen since the spring. Also saw large numbers of American Robins, Cedar Waxwings, Eastern Bluebirds and Chipping Sparrows. I was only out about three hours but managed to bag about thirty species. Not exactly a "big day" but great one none the less. Daryl Owens
