My response to this article is that several things can be true at the same
time and therefore, many solutions may be necessary at many levels. One can
work for change in basic economic structures while also trying to change
racial inequities and help people change racial attitudes. Slavery may have
been economically based, but its effects on our society, present to this
day, include deep racial anomosities within our society. And sometimes,
racial inequities are used by the elites to distract  people from our
country's for ever wars and its increasing transfer of wealth from the
people to the 1%. One fact doesn't cancel out another.
