Subject: News Alert: Poll: 56% of Americans disapprove of how Trump responded
to Charlottesville, but there is little change in his overall rating

In the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll, 28 percent of Americans approve of
how the president responded after Charlottesville. Two-thirds of those who
approve of Trump’s overall job performance approve of his response to the
protests, as do 62 percent of Republicans.

The poll also finds that 42 percent say Trump put white supremacists on equal
standing with those who oppose them, while 35 percent say he did not do this.
The rest have no opinion.

Of people polled, 9 percent say it’s acceptable to have neo-Nazi or white
supremacist views; 83 percent say this is unacceptable.
