I agree with you that the American position on Jerusalem is wrong.
Please don't generalize about all American Protestants and all American Jews.
It is a particular group of right wing Evangelical Christians who agree with
the American position.
It is a percentage of American Jews who are Zionists and a percentage of those
Zionists who agree with the government's position.
There are huge numbers of American Christians, Protestants and Catholics who do
not like what their government is doing. American Jews are split between those
who are Zionists and those who are not. As time goes by, fewer and fewer
American Jews support Israel. The American Jewish establishment does not
necessarily represent what individual Jewish people think, just like the
American government does not necessarily represent what individual Americans
think.
And remember, there are powerful wealthy people who control the media and
American political institutions. They manipulate public opinion.
We need to communicate as individuals. We must stop communicating as if we were
each representatives of our respective governments or our respective religious
institutions.
